ILX Wind will generate main wind-force resisting system and components-and-cladding pressures using the ASCE 7 directional and envelope procedures - with every factor shown and pressure zones mapped onto the structure.
Wind design buries the engineer in tables, zones, and factors. ILX Wind is being built to take the building geometry, risk category, and exposure and produce the design pressures - MWFRS and C&C - with the procedure, every intermediate factor, and the pressure zones laid out clearly.
Resulting loads will pass into ILX Structures so the lateral system is designed for the wind demands the same model generated.
ILX Wind is in active development and not yet released. The capabilities below describe the planned scope and may change before launch. Subscribe below for status updates.
Directional and envelope procedures for the main wind-force resisting system.
C&C pressures by zone for walls, roofs, and openings.
Velocity-pressure exposure coefficients for categories B, C, and D.
Speed-up factor Kzt for hills, ridges, and escarpments.
Rigid and flexible building gust-effect treatment.
Enclosure classification and internal pressure coefficients.
Risk-category-based basic wind speed and directionality.
Zone maps and pressure diagrams ready for the design record.
